Enter the wedding of the year competition

Last year our Wedding of the Year competition was a huge success - readers from all over the region entered for their chance to be crowned with the title. So this year we've decided to run the competition again; only we've upped the ante with a fabulous two-night break for two.

How does it work?

Throughout the year, we'll be looking for couples whose Sussex-based weddings have taken place between October 2011 and September 2012.

Every issue we'll reveal the shortlisted couples, and readers can vote online for their favourite. The winner of each issue will go through to the final, which will be held in spring next year. Any newlyweds can enter the competition: it doesn't matter whether the wedding was large or small; modest or spectacular.

Remember, it's the readers who vote, and determine who reaches the final - and ultimately who wins.

How to enter

If you'd like to put your wedding forward, simply click on 'I want to enter' link above, where you'll find a short entry form. Once you've filled in your details click 'submit' and, if your entry has been successful, a member of the team will contact you. It's as simple as that.

What’s the prize?

Wedding of the year prize

The overall winners will not only claim the all-important Wedding of the Year title, they'll also win an indulgent two-night stay at Buxted Park. The prize includes two nights accommodation, with dinner and breakfast also included.

Buxted Park is an 18th century country house hotel surrounded by 312 acres of gardens and parkland, including three lakes and a deer park. Located in the Ashdown Forest, East Sussex, the venue is conveniently situated near to Brighton and Eastbourne, with great transport links.

Each of the 44 bedrooms at Buxted Park have been designed with luxury in mind, with some of the suites including original period features such as open fireplaces and roll-top baths. Guests can enjoy the award-winning AA rosette restaurant which showcases a range of seasonal dishes and ingredients from local suppliers.

As a wedding venue, Buxted Park has a plethora of areas in which to say your vows and hold a reception, with the hotel catering for both large and intimate weddings.
